Description/
In this work, Chen Cheng-po sketches the Broken Bridge at West Lake, and the scenery around the lakefront, from a downward angle. This painting is similar in composition to the oil painting Spring at West Lake (1934), which was selected for the 15th Teiten. There is a note "Hangzhou" on the upper right corner. In the lower left corner is written “1934. Cheng-po painted.” This sketch can also be compared with Chen’s other paintings related to the Broken Bridge at West Lake, such as: Stream (1929) and West Lake (1933).
