Chen Cheng-po composed a series of watercolor sketches of female nudes during his stay in Shanghai. In this painting, the model is sitting in a chair, facing to the right and showing the curve of her back and bottom. The chair and cushion are distinct and well defined. In the lower right corner is written "1932.1.Cheng-po painted."
